BRIDGE COURSE

POST GRADUATE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS, MAHATMA GANDHI COLLEGE, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Department of Economics Economics is one of the oldest departments of this college. It started functioning in 1948. It offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in economics. There are five permanent faculty members in the department. Among them two hold PhD and others are pursuing research. The project works undertaken by the faculty members add to the credit of the department. The PG department of economics secures cent percent result in the university examinations, and the department has been successful in securing many ranks in the recent past. The department library has a collection of more than five thousand books. The department also subscribes around ten journals. As a part of the innovative teaching methodology, students are given exposure to computer based skills. Students of this department have secured jobs in reputed companies through campus placements. As a part of the project works, PG students of the department are involved in socio-economic surveys.
