Workshop on waste free City with unpolluted environment
Thiruvananthapuram: Dept. of
Economics organized a
workshop on waste free city with unpolluted environment, public hygiene
and cleanliness. 75
representatives from various walks of life participated in the workshop and
they were seriously discussed the causes
related to diffusion of denque fever and other diseases in an around the
city. The workshop seriously discussed
on the prevention of mosquito diseases due to rain and waste nondisposal, and
how to improve the quality of life through good health and general well being,
economic gains, better aesthetic surroundings and overall environmental
upgradation. The workshop suggested to the
city corporation, to ensure
sanitation for all, implementation of comprehensive scientific waste
management systems, facilitate active community
participation, achieve waste reduction at source, development of an attitudinal
change among the people of city towards waste management and environmental up
keep, etc.

ORIENTATION CLASS
M.G. College: Dept. of Economics conducted a one
day orientation programme for School Teachers on “Sustainable Development” on
12’th July 2011, at the College Seminar Hall. Dept. Teachers made lecture on
different areas related to sustainable growth and with made slide presentations
on various areas such as Economic growth & Environmental degradation, Global warming, food security,
Future water availability, Population growth and land accessibility, etc.
