WORKSHOPS
 
Workshop on waste free City with unpolluted environment

 

        Thiruvananthapuram: Dept. of Economics organized a workshop on waste free city with unpolluted environment, public hygiene and cleanliness.   75 representatives from various walks of life participated in the workshop and they were  seriously discussed the causes related to diffusion of denque fever and other diseases in an around the city.  The workshop seriously discussed on the prevention of mosquito diseases due to rain and waste nondisposal, and how to improve the quality of life through good health and general well being, economic gains, better aesthetic surroundings and overall environmental upgradation. The workshop suggested to the  city corporation,  to ensure sanitation for all, implementation of comprehensive scientific waste  management systems, facilitate active community  participation, achieve waste reduction at source, development of an attitudinal change among the people of city towards waste management and environmental up keep, etc.

Two days Trainning on “Use of Mathematical Tools in Economics” for Higher Secondary Teachers

 
            M.G. College: Dept. of Economics organized a two days trainning programme for Higher Secondary School Teachers on “Use of Mathematical Tools in Economics”.  The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. B. Vijaya Kumar, Chief of Evaluation Division, State Planning Board, Thiruvananthapuram. He emphasized the importance and applications of mathematical tools in various theories of Economics and made it clear that a working knowledge of Mathematics is essential for Economics teachers. College Principal Dr. G. Jaya Kumar presided over the function.
